2 students arrested for planning to blow up high school
ROY — Two Roy High students were arrested Wednesday after officials discovered the students' attempts to blow up the school during an assembly.
According to the Standard Examinier, Dallin Morgan, 18, and Joshua Hoggan, 16, were taken into custody after school administrators and the Roy Police department discovered maps of the school and details about the school's security system.
The students had plans to blow up the school and escape on a plane from the Ogden Hinckley Airport, using technical flight simulation programs as their plot preparations.
Officers from the Weber County Bomb Disposal Unit and Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms unit were dispatched to the school, securing the school of any potential threats. Officers found no items at Roy High, but have expanded their investigation to include the students' vehicles and homes.
Morgan was booked into the Weber County Jail on charges of conspiracy, with additional charges pending. Hoggan was booked into the Weber Valley Detention Center on a similar charge.
