Snowbird - Thursday 01.05 vs. Saturday 01.07.2012

Went out for my first resort ride of the season on Thursday. Last year at this time, I probably had 15 resort days already which shows you how bad this season has been. No motivation from me so far. However, I went out and had a great time in the sun. Snow was hardpacked but I went in the afternoon so it was soft in the sun.

Contrast that with today after 7 new inches of snow. It was great up there but a ton of rocks still. You had to try to remember how covered everything was or you could do some serious damage. I took a bunch of runs on Great Scot which required a downcrawl through the Rat's Nest as you can see in the video. Nasty rocky/dirt but the turns afterward were worth it.

I also used my new (to me) board today which was pretty nice. I bought a used 2010 Never Summer Premier F1 161. It is my third Never Summer but my first with Rocker and Camber. Totally different ride for sure.

Things have improved mightily after this storm. we just need to see this happen on a regular basis for the rest of the season.

The snow was good below for sure. Went back up today and scrambled through rats nest a few more times. It was worse today!
