    White Pocket

Ended 2011 with a bang, and scratched off a place of my never ended yet always growing list! We left Hurricane at 7AM and after a long, long drive arrived at 11:30. The ground was frozen, and the sand not too deep. Probably should have driven something with about 1-2 inches more clearence(left trenches from our muffler plowing through the sand/snow) but made it in a honda pilot. There was quite a bit of mud in spots and the parking lot was a snow/mud mess. The weather was perfect (thank you global warming temperatures in the 50s on New Years Eve). Something that I wasnt expecting was finding a considerable amount of pottery shards. I decided I needed to hurry and post these prior to Nick posted his (apparently we were both at White Pocket on New Years Eve

    Wauw, it looks awesome man!
    Great experience I bet :)

It is still high on my list, I didn't dare to do it yet.
Hopefully one of my next trips I will be able to go there!

Pretty snow free around there. That place is so cool. Toss up between Cottonwood Cove and White Pocket. I love the Sandhills.
    Nice job!

Nice stuff, Matt. Wish I had run into you out there. It's a lot bigger than I expected. Can't wait to go back.

Ya for sure on both! After a nice rainstorm when those pools are full we will have to go mayn!

Yeah, I was pretty surprised the pools weren't full at all considering the muddy, snowy mess that the road was there at the end. Oh well, at least there was a killer sunset on NYE.
