    Best of 2011 Canyoneering Pictures

Time to get our annual best of 2011 thread going...

The rules.... only one picture per post and no more then 5 pictures from any one person. The pictures must have been taken in 2011. The pictures do not have to be yours, but proper photo credit must be given and you must have permission to post the photo if they are not yours.

And while it is not required it's always nice if you post a little bit of info along with your picture. What, where when, who and how...

Our two sons on the Mystery Springs Rap.....part of a trip to Zion in July that saw us do Birch Hollow, Spry & Mystery. The boys also did some rock climbing near St. George. Can't wait to go back in 2012.

The Upper Subway. Came solo down Russell Gulch, being alone I managed to get in front of all the other groups and the water was pristine and beautiful.

Lacy rappelling down Mystery Springs. Good to get back to this canyon after my terrible misadventure the previous time. While not *everything* turned out exactly right in the end, it was good to have a minimum of near-death experiences.

Near the end of Keyhole Canyon in the spring, while water was still flowing through it. It was perfectly clear, a little chilly, and a lot of fun.

If there was only photo to sum up this year, it would be this one. Misery Canyon was my first major solo canyon this year. I snapped this photo at the very end, not realizing how backlit I was. You can't really see who I am, but somehow it came out wonderful, an iconic photo for my year of soloing canyons.

Matt, I seem to remember one with a ducky float toy - would that count as canyoneering?

We took my sister in law down Pine Creek to introduce her to canyoneering. As most of you would assume...mission accomplished! She's now addicted.
I've never been lost...just really confused for a couple of days.

Just snapped this one playing around in a pool at the end of Pine Creek, thought it looked pretty cool.
