    Fiery Furnace - Arches NP

Thanksgiving weekend my family did some technical routes inside the Fiery Furnace with Peakbagger and his wife. If you have never been in the Furnace this should give you a good idea of what it contains.

    Enjoy the show

Mark showed me that route several years ago, I like it a lot.

Did you guys go out the bottom of what we call Cave Hollow? The spot where you climbed under the rock?

    Nice Video

No, we didn't do Krill, its not one of my favorites. I consider it the most overrated route in Moab.

We did Cave Hall, but that is not the Cave Hall Rock Crawl in the video. The 'Rabbit Hole' as I call it, is an easy way around one of the rappels in Lomatium.

Weather was great, hiking in just a shirt and fleece most of the time.

We usually hit Moab again sometime over the Christmas holidays, Rooms are cheap, its close to home, and the weather is a lot better than the SLC smog we have right now.

Sweet video! It seems like there is an arch every other step?! I wanna go there one day!

My wife and I plan to be in Moab for the New Years weekend, if anyone wants to meet up for an adventure and/or beers let me know.

Actually a bunch of arches I didn't post because they didn't look good in the pictures and/or video. The kissing Trutles is a pretty cool arch, but its back drop is a massive cliff so the arch washes out into the background in pictures.

If you are looking for partners, or are willing to add on 1 or 2 to your party, I live in Grand Junction (just moved to the southwest last March) and can be in Moab in less than 2 hours. Have rope and other gear.

Canyons on New Years weekend in Moab area? I live in Grand Junction and can be in Moab in a flash. What are you thinking of doing?

Canyon devil, "PM sent" --- what does this cryptic code mean? Do you want to do Elephant Butte on Saturday, Dec. 31? Firey Furnce as an exploratory hike (unless you know how to access Lomation and Krill) on Sunday?

It is forum speak for "check your private messages". If you look at the top right corner of Bogley you will see a link "Notifications", click on that and you can read your private messages. There are other ways to access Bogley's messaging system but that was the easiest for me to discribe.

Moving planning of private trips to private messages or email is considered good practice so you don'r clog up a forum with messages only meant for two people.
