While the canyon is easy physically, the anchor rigging required is not.... at least not since the bolts were removed a few years back. The rigging isn't exactly hard.... its just not clip and go easy these days.

Thought I'd toss that out their because I didn't know if you meant "girlfriend easy" or the other kinda easy.

The other kind of easy. Thanks for the reminder. Is there anything particularly tough or tricky about the rigging that you can comment on, please?

Bring lots of webbing (100' ?). The first rappel anchor is the tricky one.

The route is much easy if following it up with U-turn or Teirdrop later in the day. That way you can just retrieve your anchor setup on the second lap and have fewer worries.

IMO I would pick either Tierdrop or U Turn and then go do some of the other routes around Moab or in the Park. Once you have done one of them you have done them all. U Turn is the easiest one of the 3. Tierdrops first anchor is sort of a pain like Not Tierdrop. Climbing up the crack 3 times in one day is not something I would like to do when there are other places to go.

    Just my 2 cents.

    U-Turn and Tierdrop

7 of us did U-Turn then 5 ascended the crack again to do Tierdrop.

Others of you can speak lightly of these if you choose: we loved the crack, the views, the anchors and the raps. Plus who can argue with such short approach and return walks. They are shorter canyons than Zion; but they are shorter walks too. Scenery is every bit as awesome as Zion.

2 weeks ago did Rams Horn (think that is the name?), Granery and ELephant Butte.

Going to the Roost in early Janaury.
