N00B TR - Moab dash 10/2011

Had enough of work. Made a 'dash' to Utah. 3 days of fun but 3 wks in execution. Schedule to the effect of of: pack truck and drive 500 miles to work. Work off shore for a week, drive 1.5 days to Moab, execute good times, drive 1.5 days back to work, work offshore for a week. Drive 500 miles home.

The good times:
Day 1/2: Arrive Moab, ride up to Bar M brand trails, ride a short single track loop in flip flops.
Day 1: Climb Castleton Tower with someone I'd never met. (Went well)
Day 2: Shuttle to Hazard County trailhead and ride the Porcupine rim down to the Colorado and the road back to town. Drive out to the Roost.
Day 3: Descend Mindbender canyon.

All in all the best solo trip I've done in 30 yrs.

EXCELLENT! I think only the best vaca is one that deserves it's own vaca. (if that makes any sense)
