    Rock of Ages/Pool Arch

Visited Rock of Ages/Pool Arch last Saturday. Excellent weather. Shane has some nice photos on his site but thought we'd offer a few for people to enjoy. This area called "Behind the Rocks" is intriguing & convoluted. Great area to explore. The rappel by the arch is beautiful. Some water in the pool under the arch to knee deep. Some more water down canyon from there where there was a short, ankle deep pool followed by a waist deep pool where you lower down off a jammed log. All other water was avoidable.

If you like Behind the Rocks I just added a fun new route:

Hidden Valley to Moab Rim Traverse

Its a hiking route and not a tech route, but it explores a different area with great rock art and a unique Anasazi ruin called the Watch Tower. Its also a great cold weather hike so it gives you something to do this winter.

Thanks for posting that hiking route, Shane. Anything in that area is simply stunning. Did both hiking and biking in there many years ago. Accessed from the Moab Rim trail and attempted to hike directly south from the 4wd road past the 4825T marker. Quickly found that rope & equipment was the only way to continue. Didn't have it at the time. Never have done the hike along the Hidden Valley portion. Have heard about it from many people. Will have to add that to our list. It's just plain fun to hike up into that area and see where you can end up.

Haven't been to Moab much in the last couple of years. Going to have to get back there. Your photos are inspiring - thanks!!
