    I love this pistol....

In fact I love it so much I think I'll keep it next to my bed while I sleep.

Very nice--did you pick up a new one, or a gently used one?

What do you love about it?

I've always just been a fan of the various S&W model 59 variations. They are high quality, dependable and I shot them well.

It's used, my father retired and turned his gunsmithing hobby into a full time job... so he's not retired anymore. He builds some pretty wicked custom guns that have been selling like crazy. Anyhoo... he picked up several used S&W 5906. He bead blasted the frame, did a few little tricks, and put on a new set of grips and it looks brand new. He built anther one that had the stainless steel frame buffed out to a mirror finish that looked pretty cool.

    and the price was right

does it shoot well upside down like that?
But if I agreed with you, we would both be wrong.

It's too bad that S and W doesn't offer these anymore...I'm not much for the plastic guns, not that I don't like them, it's just that I love the feel and balance of a metal frame. I've had a few Glocks, but I just didn't shoot them much.

Is that the actual gun? Because it is absolutely beautiful.

FWIW: I told you my dad worked over a couple of these used 9mm. He either bead blasts the metal or buffs it out. Here are a couple pictures of one he buffed out.
