    Rescuers guide stranded hikers off Mount Olympus

    A group of seven hikers stranded on Mount Olympus as night fell Tuesday were led to safety with the help of a helicopter and search and rescue workers early Wednesday morning.

    Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said two of the hikers had become separated from the others about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and hiked down to a trailhead parking lot. When darkness fell and the rest of their group was still on the mountain, they called 911 for help.

    That call set off deployment of a spotlight-equipped Utah Highway Patrol helicopter and Salt Lake County Search and Rescue units to the mountain trails east of Salt Lake City. The scattered hikers were located

    Hopefully they have to pay for that helicopter service...

    Heaven forbid two hikers were near a CLIFF on a MOUNTAIN...... sounds dangerous! I wouldn't go there. If people want excitement they should stick with Corn Mazes.... wait, never mind.
