Conditions for Pine Creek and Yankee Doodle

After getting a powder day in last weekend, Carrie and I decided to head to Zion this weekend to bask in the rays. As of now, the plan is to do Pine Creek on Saturday late morning then see where the afternoon takes us... On Sunday, we are contemplating hitting Yankee Doodle on the way out of town. I know there has been much rain lately and I have seen a few videos from the end of September and very beginning of October. Should we still be expecting a swim fest in Pine Creek? Lots of debris/minor log soup? I am guessing in the current conditions my 3/2 wetsuit should get left behind for something a bit more stout. Haven't seen anything on the conditions of Yankee Doodle. Will we need a wetsuit there or are the wades short enough that it isn't really necessary?

Right now it is just the two of us heading down. If anyone wants to meet up with us, we would be more than happy to have you join, just know that we may be a bit slower than normal due to Carrie's recovering ankle (tendinitis - nothing major).

On a side note, just ordered up a Panasonic TS3 that will arrive tomorrow to replace the camera I drowned in Echo last month (you mean dry bags don't work if you forget to close them - yeah, I know, I've been slacking on the TR, it will come soon). Can't wait to test it out and not worry about a dry bag for a change!!!!

I can't help with current conditions in either canyon, but can certainly give a thumbs up for the TS3 (or FT3 as we call it here in Yurp). This was the last rap in Pine Creek (according to my FT3) two weeks ago:

Hope you have a great time!
