Ascending Challenge - Sunday, Oct 16th

Meet at Canyons & Crags in Cedar City

THE PLAN: Carpool to Benson Creek between Parowan and Brian Head. Ascend the scree gully using Prusik safety lines. Rappel all four waterfalls (30-100 feet), leaving ropes fixed. Turn around and ascend all four waterfalls, then descend the scree gully using Prusik safety lines.

The waterfalls will be rigged with additional anchors so participants will pass reblays while rappelling and ascending. This will allow us to have more people on ropes at one time and provide an additional challenge.

Gear Requirements
You must have all of the following gear to participate:

• Harness
• Helmet
• Rappel Device
• 4-5 Locking Carabiners
• Mechanical Ascenders
• (2) 48 inch Slings
• (2) Prusiks
• Appropriate Footwear
• Appropriate Clothing (you will get wet)
