Mt Timpanogos via Timpooneke Trail
Mt Timpanogos has been on my list for one of my summer hikes and yesterday was the day. The hike started at 6:30am with the morning temperature around 45 degrees.
The trail was in good shape with some snow fields that had to be crossed along the way. I was surprised at how much snow was still up there this time of year. One of the snow crossings over a stream was a little scary thinking the patch of snow would fall in with any weight, but it held.
The view from the top was amazing, and looking down on Emerald lake made you realize how high you really are.
There was one lone Mt goat at the top that I could see but I'm sure he had friends around the corner.
On the way down I went a little out of the way to see the WWII plane wrechage and took a few photos of the debris.
All in all a very good hike, one that will have to be done again
