moving a prairie rattlesnake
A prairie rattlesnake found its way into one of our tack sheds so I was called to move it. I've handled (with snake tongs) many rattlesnakes, but none of them ever struggled like this one did. At least now it is away from horses and humans and can find a nice place to hide away for winter...

cool video. Those snake tongs worked way better than my homemade fiberglass pole with a noose that I had for catching rattlesnakes in the 70's and early 80's.

Nice looking snake. It'd be come cool footage if you got a GoPro on the end of pole, you could get the camera right up there

Very cool snake! It's kind of a shame that you had to move it (for obvious reasons) because I bet it was doing a bang-up job handling the rodent population in your tack shed .
It was definitely cranky !Sonya
