Indian Trail in Ogden Canyon
This is the "Trail in Ogden Canyon by the Smokey the Bear Sign" .... or the Indian Trail in Ogden Canyon. I've seen the trailhead many times either in Ogden Canyon, or the other end at 22nd street as we're biking the Ogden Shoreline Trail. I've never done it so I decided to get the family together and hit it last night.
We started near the Smokey sign in Ogden Canyon, near the old Fire Kiln.
We made it up to the small shack at the Ogden overlook, right before it starts descending down towards the 22nd street trail head. According to MyTracks on the android phone, the mileage was just over 2.5 miles. I believe the first of the hike was coming up Coldwater Canyon.
The kids loved it, of course my girl was totally fine with the hike as she rode my back the whole time. My 5 year old boy did pretty good with the occasional 5 minute rest. We started hiking at @5:30 pm and made it back down to the car at 8:30. This was with a lot of stops and snacks on the trail, and about 20 minutes at the top.
Here's a map of our route

Beautiful pictures! Thanks for sharing.
Is that a Kelty backpack? I have the older version and have almost wore it out, J/K, they are tough! Mine lasted through 3 boys and many miles, not only on the trail but boat shows, hunting shows, trips to the zoo, and even while I was mowing the lawn. My youngest just couldn't stay away from the lawnmower, so I tried putting him in the pack while I mowed the lawn and he loved it! Usually falling asleep before I got done...Great backpack.

Yeah, it is a Kelty backpack. The kids love it. Unfortunately in about a year my youngest might be too big for it, so I'll have to sell it. Kinda makes me sad.
