    Consumer Warning !!

If you or anyone you know drives a BMW Mini-Cooper here is a warning for you. My niece Kelly was driving down the highway (here in La) on Sunday and for no known reason, her car started smoking and by the time she reached the shoulder of the road, flames were coming out from under the hood. She was lucky to get out before the entire car was engulfed in flames. In searching the internet, this is not an isolated incident, yet there hasn't been one re-call issued to date. It has been terribly hot down here this summer, but not that hot!

Hope all is well in the dry humid-free state of Utah! I am missing summertime there!

Glad she got out in time.

On a side note, did she remember to grab smore supplies on her trip?

She put her photos on her FB page and asked her friends what kind of new car should she get. One replied "the flame retardent kind." We are all just thankful that she didn't get hurt!

Dang. That's crazy. Glad she made it out safely, and I hope she has insurance to cover it. Wonder what happened? Has she done any research on the Web to see if there are others who have had this same issue?

She does have insurance, but of course it only pays out what current value of the car is now. There are many cases we have found on the internet with this happening in the mini-cooper. I hope that a recall goes out soon before someone is seriously injured or killed - if it hasn't happened already.

Higher an attorney and sue mini for not recalling the vehicles when it was suspected there was an issue? $$$$$$$$$$$$

I would lower an attorney instead.
