The Chrytal Crag July 14th 2011

After Humphreys, we rested. I needed it, Aaron didn't. We set about climbing the
Crystal Crag above Mammoth Lakes. More snow up there, at a more modest altitude,
staying under 11,000 feet. Aaron had to do the 5.8-9 variation off the deck. ;-)
A total of two plus pitches, the 2nd thru the named quartz like dike, led to a
tricky knife edge ridge. Lots of overhanging notches required careful route
finding into said notches and then some dynamic step overs. A wonderful
"walking" rest day. Stevee B. was due in that evening and Yosemite was on the
next days docket.
