Pfeifferhorn, 2010'
Went hiking on July third last year, had to return to an old favorite. It had been way to long since last time reaching this summit. The previous few seasons attempts left me out of breath on the ridge without enough will power to continue across the knife edge and up the peak. Things just had to change.
A perfect day for hiking in the Wasatch.
Naturally had to stop and add Alpine Buttercup to the collection
There was a group ahead of me, they turned around at the narrow ridge.
There wasn't enough snow left to justify bringing the iceaxe but having
hauled it all the way up there I had to use it, so I climbed the small steep
patch of snow below the summit.
Had the summit all to myself, then relinquished it to a small party as I left.
Found some Sky Pilot adding color to the knife edge ridge on the way back across.
Several verietys of Violet were in bloom along the trail.
And Western Clematis
Yup, great day for a hike.
