But if I agreed with you, we would both be wrong.

That is so Euro. Of course they can do that, they have national health insurance! Girly american canyoneers need to worry about meeting their deductible and the cost of their rescue.

Actually, in Europe, adventurers pay up front for rescue insurance. If you don't have it, they take it out of your pay.

In the USA, rescue is provided courtesy your tax dollars. Just make sure you have the right permits, and you'll be OK.

I think this video should be part of the Zion National Park express permit process. It would certainly much more amusing than the current videos.

I did some stuff like that at Seven Peaks and I didn't need a wet suit or ropes.

Reminds me of Hydrophobia on our last day in Monterrey, Mexico a few years back. Boy was that fun! Lots of jumps and tons of clear water! We need to go back...

I have very fond memories of that trip. If I remember you put together an FTP site to aggregate pictures. I just bought a new laptop and I am organizing and transfering files. I was just looking at those pics.

Do you still have the FTP site? I could upload my pics and I wouldn't mind grabbing a few. My camera stopped working after I chucked my backpack off of a 20-30 ft cliff in Matacanes. So, I only have pictures of half of Matacanes and missed all of the last day.

I loved those canyons. I just don't want to swing from an overpass in Monterrey going to see them again (o.k., maybe a bit exaggerated). Looks like Europe is the next place to go.
