Green River - Spirit Lake
It’s been a long two months full of debilitating headaches, uncontrollable nausea, trying to find my balance again, squinting through blurry eyes, mandatory bed-rest and getting a nice hole in my head for an emergency brain surgery to remove a tumor on my cerebellum. Finally, this weekend I felt like it was time for a jailbreak, and try a little car camping adventure and maybe even do some fishing… I didn’t catch any fish, but we caught a couple nice sunsets.
Friday night we headed out to Dutch John to try and fish the Green right below the dam. Flows are still at 9,000 cfs, but supposedly the fishing was decent still. We got skunked. After a crackin’ thunderstorm and getting pelted with hail, we tried one more round on the Green, only to get skunked again. We retreated to Spirit Lake, where the fishing picked up, but I left the rod and reel and grabbed my camera gear. I think it's been a full 6 weeks since I've even touched my camera... Must say, it was pretty damn refreshing to finally get back out there with the camera and chase some light!
Nice sunset at Spirit Lake

Section A on the Green, just below the dam. Pretty good fishing when it's not at 9.000 cfs...
Cow and a calf I stumbled on to.
Middle Fork of Sheep Creek. Water is raging still up there.
Tossing a fly on the Green.
I hate photos of huge man-made structures, but the sky was pretty sweet this night. Overlooking the Flaming Gorge Dam.

Photography is good therapy, and it seems like it has done you some good to get out and record some images. I love the shot of the gut casting, and the dam aint so bad either, even if it is a dam.

So nice to see a TR with photos from you again! What a great way to "clear your head".
