    Arizona Bald Eagle

    This is a photo I took earlier this summer at Roosevelt Lake. The eagle in question is a female who is around 25 years old. I spent three months watching her and her mate successfully raise and fledge two young. She is part of a breeding population of Bald Eagles that are unique to Arizona. In this photo she is flying over the lake, looking down at the water hunting for bass to feed her nestlings - who fledged successfully in mid-May.
