Thread: Malad Idaho - Third Creek Area

Malad Idaho - Third Creek Area

A couple of us hit an area NorthEast of Malad, Idaho called Third Creek. A riding buddy of mine kept telling me about it, so we gave it a shot. This is an incredible place to ride! Lots of various terrain, including a single track that runs along the Mtn tops looking into Preston. Here is a video and a few photos along with the map. I highly recommend this area for highland riding!! Yes, that is a photo of flowers. What can I say, i'm a sucker for colors. No stamps under the tongue.

I've been to this area twice (both Friday) and have seen only a few people. We just did another ride there last Friday and had a group of 13 riders, which was unusual.
There are signs along the trail, but unless you know the area you would need a GPS or some navigation skills.

Of all people, I could've guess'd you'd be the one to give me shit about the flower pics. When is the next Paiute trip?
    There had better be flowers!

Probably towards the end of the month if I get my clutch fixed. I burned it up on our last Paiute Trip!

No, not really. I'm just not sure at this point if its the easier to fix clutch plates and springs or the more intricate shift shaft or god forbid the shift cams or transmission pinions or wheels. No idea yet. All I know is it won't go into anything besides neutral and 2nd. Feels like it's trying to go from 2nd to 4th but then kicking back to 2nd upon releasing of the clutch and delivery of throttle. Weird.

This is a great area!! We ride here often. I wish that it wasn't covered in snow right now.

If you want to ride let's ride and if you want an attitude well we just need to do some more ridding.

Hard to say for sure, but I would guess late May to mid-June. Assuming we don't get anymore snow storms and decent temps.

I'm hoping to give it a go sometime next week. I'm sure snow will still be an issue

We rode yesterday some of the lower stuff. Then we got snowed out going up a ravine, we ran out of daylight, and would like to try the main trails next week. I'll try and figure out how to get some video posted.
