Glen Canyon in Black and White

Finally managed to process some photos from an April trip out on the pond with
some of the usual suspects, and some new faces. Fine canyons, and great
conditions until an approaching storm sent us retreating for shelter a day
    early...

Played in lots of potholes and some pretty unique canyons. Only a few photos
this time, all in black and white.

    Enjoy.

Great, great photos, Dan, thanks for sharing. I love them all, but 4 and 5 really stand out to me.

Stunning stuff Dan. Somehow b&w makes close-up shots of people feel more personal. The two people in the elevator and the guy with his shadow behind him really convey a feeling of intimacy.

Dan, I'm curious, how do you handle bringing a tripod through canyons with swimming? Do you dry bag it? Or is it not that bad to get the ballhead wet?

no way to keep it dry, especially if you need it... ballheads definitely not a big deal to get wet. hell, even my fluid video head goes swimming too. trying to keep it dry would be impossible. or i'd never use it. chalk it up to gear that is expendable, like pretty much everything in canyons...

Dan, you never disappoint your audience! Your pictures are beautiful. You have reminded me that black and white photography is truly an art form. Thanks for share and I hope that there is more.
