Kimberly Mt. to Monroe
Since our 3 day race was canceled, we decided to go camping instead. We set up camp along deer creek about a mile from Hoover's.
We then rode the Four wheelers up trail (I think #74 on the piute trail system) The water was high and moving fast. We had to point upstream at each of the multiple creek crossings, to keep from being washed down stream. the new cement blocks at the crossings did help a lot to keep the road from eroding away and made it easier to crossMan In the Moon Rock gurilla rock
We made it to the area were my families cabin used to be, before it was torn down by the forest service. I showed my small family all the old mines that i knew about in the area and shared several stories from my childhood in the canyon. Along the way we found Two geocaches before the trail conected to the main Trail (#1). we then retuned to camp.
The next day we tried to get to poverty flat from Hoover's. the trail was washed out from the river and was hard to tell were the river started and the trail ended. water almost covered the wheels so we had to turn back. We were then able to cross the river using the bridge at Big Rock candy mountain. I was stopped by a man who wanted to run the sevier river which was at a 3+ class today. We talked a while about the river and gave him advice. From there, I went solo through the canyon to poverty flat where I was stopped by a forest ranger after crossing the "flood zone" that was maybe 6 inches deep. From the highpoints, the the views of Monroe mountain and the tushars was amazing. Wish I still had the camera with me. I made it to Monroe city from Big Rock Candy Mountain in less than 20 minutes. (Though I do not recomend that much speed. Especialy since the road can be dangerous and there might be a ranger watching)

Nice! I will be there next week for the TBU event. One of those geocaches you logged was mine. (First tracks on the 74).
