    closed to spring flooding in the narrows. not likely to open until late June early July.

    doubt you could get a permit to fix ropes and ascend out

    edit: my comment on ascending out a closed narrows drainage canyon is it's such a weird request the park service probably would not issue a permit. it doesn't fit in their current thinking. kind of like you can't use a permit to hike up and out the narrows only down stream travel.

    I'd totally be willing to bring the 40+ ropes necessary too...

    yeah this doesn't sound like a very good idea, no way you could do legally and there is still a bunch of water coming down the narrows. pretty sketch. Heaps is open though

    Yeah - I forgot that the Narrows was closed. 700 cfs flow. Jeez. Heaps is open - I hear that's a good beginner canyon. Maybe I'll take some of my experienced outdoorsmen friends down there.
