    Crosspost: TR of Narrows Conditions

A couple kayakers snuck through (permitted) the narrows during the short
lower-than 600 cfs window a few weeks ago. Ran into them near Pah Tempe and got
a shuttle from them. Looks like Imlay (???) is flowing good.

Not sure what happened to the url, was working 5 minutes ago. Down from every hyperlink, including the original site. Hopefully it will be back up soon. Great shots and rare perspective of the Narrows and its side canyons. Sorry folks.

Is that a photo of Imlay at the end? Odd to see the image of "Big Springs Rapid". Walked it in the middle of the night with no vision in one eye a few years back. An epic in Corral. Two of my major landmarks in Zion are now gone. The heated handicap bathroom I slept in that night and the giant Cottonwood we got married under at the Temple of Sinewava.

Thanks. Great TR and crazy photos.

My least favorite statement "Our biggest hurdle, negotiating the permit regulations . . . " That drives me crazy.

Ironically, their hurdle was lower than normal, in two ways. They weren't legally allowed to launch unless the flows had been below 600 cfs 24 hours (it wasn't). Two, they weren't supposed to be authorized a permit for a same day launch.

    Rangers fault though.

and if you want a thread that will make you laugh your ass off, check out the epic "sandbagging" thread on mountainbuzz from a few years ago (that's where the "sandbagging" comments come from...) makes bogley look awfully tame...

Real tame. The guidebook author was a great guy we ran into at Pah Tempe. Hard to imagine many people hating him. But I guess that the net.

or maybe an epic bivy in the narrows where you pretty much f#&ked up every possible thing will cloud your judgement...
