Thread: New Update: Green River Predictions

Oh ok, ya I always looked at that section as I drove into Yampa, looks awesome heh

I've ran Split mountain at 20k, it was fun and furious. Moonshine was huge and pushy. Ingelsby had massive holes on each side. You can scout it on the left or go the manly route on the tongue.

We are putting on the 28th for Deso, so it looks like things could be OK if the outlook here holds.

Based on those predictions, looks like the Big Melt is yet to come

    Big Melt is coming!!!

Yampa forecast at 36,000 next week. That would be a record stage, slightly higher than 1984. Looks people have cancelled on the 5th, 6th, and 7th

Ya looks like June 9th is going to be the peak. I am going to be on the Green below the dam though. Wish I could cancel that trip and snag a permit on Yampa or Deso. Deso will peak at 50-55k, that canyon never seen a flow that big.

Would be interesting what Colorado will do in a week, if Green will be at 55k, Colorado would have to be 70k to beat the 1984 flood of Cataract of 114k. Doubt that would happen.

Looks like it will be around 90k. I hope nobody "misses" the confluence like those canoeists did about 10 years ago.

Somebody grabbed the June 7th on the Yampa, but now the 9th is open.

Hmm Lodore 9th is open too, might be a little safer than running Yampa at 35k

Well, looks like the forecast has lowered considerably...but still very high.
