Ignore / hide users' posts
Yes, even moderators....
The concept is simple; If certain members don't contribute much to the forum in your opinion, or you'd just like to make your day a little easier by excluding users' posts from your reading material, go ahead and add them to your ignore list.- View the user's profile
- Add to Ignore List
- Go about your business
You will still see threads started by the Ignored user, but the first post will be ommitted.
Edit your Ignored List here: http://www.bogley.com/forum/profile.php?do=ignorelist
Here are some screenshots

Add to Ignore List
You can add/remove users from your list here as well, this would be easier than clicking on a bunch of usernames.
(and yes, these are just SAMPLE names, not implying anything)

suggestiveTacoma Said - If Scott he asks you to go on a hike, ask careful questions like "Is it going to be on a trail?" "What are the chances it will kill me?" etc. Maybe "Will there be sack-biting ants along the way?"

I think you guys should take a 2nd look at this. When I want to ignore someone, I don't care when they post or what they post. I don't want to see a huge white bar alerting me that someone I don't care about or would rather not see has created activity and I really don't want to see their useless threads. This feels more like a mute function, you can see they are there but can't hear what they are saying. A true ignore function should remove them from existence. Facebook has a great ignore function, make it like that.
Your safety is not my responsibility.

Can somebody tell me what Deathcricket said? I'm ignoring him.
jk
I'm looking for a way to just remove any sign that the user posted, it's not included in the default stuff so I'll keep looking around for a way to get that done.

It must not be working if some of you guys are still seeing my posts
Hey so you guys will have to post screenshots here if you're having problems, I'm not ignoring anybody so this will be outta sight outta mind. I assume nothing will be done about quotes from ignored users, so you're not going to have zero exposure, but it's the best that can be done.
Besides, if we could block the quoted posts too, you'd be wondering WTH another user was talking about as it would seem out of context.
EDIT: And if this starts slowing down the site or screwing something else up that we haven't anticipated, we'll have to yank it back again until we find a better solution. But I think this will work.

Being able to ignore people who are moderators was a much needed feature. Thank you!
