    Dark Angel Petroglyphs

On Saturday, the plan was to head to Arches for the day and hike the Devils Garden primitive loop. Then we were then planning on sticking around to get some photos of the Super Moon rising that evening. Unfortunately, the skies were cloudy and overcast the entire day, and it was pretty windy. We ended up hiking the loop and visiting the petroglyphs near Dark Angel, but we decided to grab dinner and head home instead of waiting for the moonrise. It was a good choice, since the moon never did end up making an appearance

Dang... I've been to Dark Angel a half dozen times and didn't know about these. Guess I'll have to hike the route again.

    Good stuff as always.

And I like the NPS sign.

As I wrote how to get to these panels page 231 of the Volume 1 (Utah) of the wellknown guidebook Photographing the Southwest, I am surprised that this rock art site is not often visited.

WOW... I even have a copy of your volume 1 book. Guess I better blow the dust off it and read up... Can't believe I missed it first time through.

OK... I blew the dust off my copy of the book and its right there in the Devils Garden section. A paragraph telling how to find the rock art. I probably skipped over the entire Devils Garden section because I'd been there so many times before. I'm not much of a photographer, its all point-n-shoot with me and the trusty old Canon PowerShot SD1200.
