Bear Claw, Cedar City, info?
Just talked to my buddy down in St. George (blacktide) and he says that there about 10 (descended) canyons in Cedar City that he knows of, but needs some help on one of the canyons...
It's called Bear Claw (not Bear Trap which is located in the Fingers).
I've seen pics online, and it looks very pretty. Numerous short rappells, and plenty of swims and wading.
Any info?Check out Canyoneering 'Canyon Conditions' @ www.candition.com

My guess is it's one of "The Bushwhackers" routes... Involves a LOOOOONG bushwhack to get there and to get back... You may or may not make it out by dark... and you may or may not have to stealthily cross private land to get there. No clue where it actually is though.

Bear Claw looks like the funnest one there....at least publicized photos I've seen, for that area. Too bad you can't drive any closer due to private property.

Since there are canyoneers in there without helmets on, I cannot possibly have anything to do with this thread...

OK, some pics look like Too Wet, but many don't. So, I don't know. Looks like the boyz are carrying overnight gear, so it is likely a Kip "one-day" route. Even if I knew, I couldn't tell ya, you know?

A buddy of mine I met at college (Dixie). He was the one who got me addicted to canyoneering. He's also a BLM firefighter for St. George. He doesn't frequent here unfortunately.
I can't tell ya his name though...sorry. He doesn't want to be known he says. Haha

It seems Bushwhacker is a great nickname. I must know who gave it!

Take that comment with a grain of salt. I've been to a Kip canyon. Had it not been for some forest fires, slightly brushy would have been, well, dense undergrowth.
