Was he in Christchurch? I thought he was in Queensland or that area.

He is in Wanaka, New Zealand - but flies for a living I think, so could be anywhere.
I have no idea where Wanaka is though?

Great news that he is ok, and thoughts and prayers to those impacted by the disaster.

hi guys,
thanks for all of your concern. i am literally overwhelmed. i am fine. wanaka is 300 miles from christchurch and was not impacted. christchurch however has gotten hit again. much harder than the quake back in september. the sept quake was a 7.0, 30 k deep and 50 k away. this quake was 6.3, 5k deep and 10 k from the city. major damage this time. the central business district looks like a war sone. many historic buildings have been reduced to rubble. the previous quake in sept happened at 4am so there was no one on the streets or at work. this one was at 1pm and everyone was out and about or at work. numerous deaths, injuries, and some are still trapped in the rubble. they are all in my thoughts today. But if I agreed with you, we would both be wrong.

Horrible tragedy as earthquakes usually are. It must be terrifying to be trapped under the rubble.

i hope not. you would need very dark glasses to avoid retina damage.
But if I agreed with you, we would both be wrong.
