    Dang, that's pretty cool. I love my spot and I'd love it even more if I could send custom messages throughout a trip.

    I have the Spot paired wirelessly with a Delorme PN-60w GPS. 'Type and send' satellite messages are really handy--especially for solo trips. I like that Spot is pairing with Android, etc., but I prefer the handheld GPS pairing since the device of course is much more rugged than a phone. I
    I was in Zion-Kolob just last weekend and was able to update my wife regularly with my status and location.
