Hello from New Mexico
Just joined this site on 2/7/11...Originally from Pittsburgh, moved to New Mexico in 1993...love hiking but don't have courage for any rope work...like my bones unbroken, and tend to do a lot of solo hiking and camping. Live at 7,300 feet on the Pajarito Plateau in Los Alamos right next to Bandelier National Monument (more elk than I can count). While New Mexico is cool, I get to southern Utah as often as I can (> 35 trips). Much prefer desert canyons and mesas to mountains. Special place in my heart for badlands (the real kind). A former scientist, I spent most of my adult life couped up in laboratories until I moved out West and now try my best to make up for lost time.
Photo below is me on Xmas Day 2010 shortly into the Chesler Park Trail in the Needles District of Canyonlands.
