Wasatch Front Canyoneering Party - December 17, 2010

    Wasatch Front Canyoneering Party
Party: Wasatch Front (Utah) Canyoneering Party Reminder
    Date: December 17, 2010; Friday Eve 7:00 pm;

Pot Luck: Bring food, treats and drinks
A digital projector and screen will be at the function

Where: Jane Bowman Residence - East Side Salt Lake City (County)
3566 South Neffs Circle (2525 East)

    Directions:

    1. Home is SW of REI and NE of Black Diamond - on the E side of SL Valley

    2. Address is most easily accessed from the W side of Neffs Lane (which runs E&W) and intersects 23rd E at 2300 East & 3580 South.

    3. Via I-15, I-80 or I-215 get to one of the lights at 3300 S or 3900 S.& 2300 East; and travel N or S on 2300 E till you get to Neff's Lane (on the E side of Rd.)

    4. Neffs Lane is approx "in the middle of" 3300 S and 3900 S (on 2300 East)

    5. Once at 2300 E and 3580 S, turn EAST on NEFFS LANE; proceed EAST to a stop sign, the road swings slightly NE, past one large set of evergreen and when reaching the second set of evergreen (on N side of street); slow and turn south into Neffs Circle.

    6. Street sign (on Neffs Lane) at 3530 South 2525 East shows "Neffs Circle; turn SOUTH past two houses; The third home on the R is the Bowman residence (3566 S.)

*If somehow the above directions are hazy, pull up Mapquest, punch in the address and go from there.

Note: This is the same December Canyon party that has occurred annually at the Jane & Roger Arhart residence. This year, by necessity, it moved to the Bowman home. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Arhart family.

For the mapquest etc impared...here's how I remember it:

From I-215, exit on 3900 South. You're headin' down hill. Its houses. Kinda the first bidness you run into, is, what used to be the Albertsons, now Fresh Market, a grocery store on your right. Turn right at that interection (this is 2300 East). You're going north, now, and, in the distance you'll see a stop light. As you approach the light (this is Evergreen, before you get to 3300 South), you'll see a street coming in from the right and the street sign is easy to read: Neff's Lane. Go right here. You basically stay on Neff's Lane, straight, until it bends slightly left, then, slight back right. Poorly marked in the middle of this bendy stuff is a street leading to a circle on the right: Neff's Circle. If you hit a T and are forced to turn right or left, you've overshot it by just one street, so, turnaround and look for the circle again. The house is in the circle at the end on the right. I remember it as "Neff's to Neff's".

Hope to see you all there.

Here's a checklist that may prove useful. If you can answer all or most of these with "yes", then it is probably cool for you to make an appearance:

    1. wearing clothes?
    2. have showered in the last week?
    3. refrain from picking fights with hostess or hostess family?
    4. well-enough trained to go outside to throw up?
    5. still wearing clothes?
    6. refrain from hitting on hostess's 16 yr old daughter?
    7. refrain from hitting on hostess's 14 yr old daughter?
    8. refrain from hitting on hostess's 12 yr old daughter?
    9. have ability to refrain from talking religion and politics when subtle interpersonal cues suggest you just stepped over the line?
9a. have ability to refrain from talking religion and politics when interpersonal cues suggest the next step in the discussion might involve firearms?
    10. wearing clothes, other than your KKK 'party-outfit'?
    11. willing to have a good time?
    12. at least have a germ of an idea of what canyoneering is?

If you're cool, then, its cool. Pretty easy, really.

A poll, though: spiral cut ham: hot or cold?

(Which is to say I only like two kinds of ham, hot and cold)

    Preference?

Hope to see you all there.
