I didn't know there was an Obama Canyon?!?

The bottom of it must drop out REALLY quick. jk. let's not turn this into a political thread.

The canyon is more hype than substance and the last rappel drops you into a big pile of shit.....
Actually we called it Obama Canyon because we used it to bailout of the canyon we originally planned. Calling it Obama Canyon was a joke since the bailouts were big news at the time. On the official trip report I changed the name to "Bailout Canyon" so it wouldn't turn into a political debate.
Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.

    Elephant Butte

Taken 12/04/2010 on a Canon G10 from the top of Elephant Butte, Arches National Park
Not really a "canyon" descent, but since it's written up on Shane's site and we followed that route description, thought we would submit it. Used Photomatix Pro 3 on two photos. Does this meet all the "rules?"

Looking down the second rappel in Keyhole Canyon. It was 111 degrees on that day and I thought I might die on the hike up to the canyon. But I had never seen Keyhole look so photogenic.

Near the end of Keyhole, at the drop into the "somewhat-flooded corridor." I learned something that day... when it's that hot out, even Keyhole is pretty warm!

To balance out hot Keyhole, I ended up in Pine Creek at the end of October when it was 45 degrees out. It was chilly, and full of water, but we didn't have to share the canyon with anyone else. Most of the pictures didn't work because it was so dark, but this one did.

Very cool photo! "That onion" is a great feature. Where is Granary Canyon? Moab area?

    Muddy Creek Gorge

Not technical, but it was on the hike back to Hidden Splendor after Knotted Rope. I think the hiker is Don.

My quota is of my posts, not shots I took, right? (Don posted two of my shots). So I've got 2 more...

This is my son in Pine Creek
