Family hikes in St George?
I'll be bringing the family down to St George this weekend. Kids are 4 and 1. There's Zion of course, and Pioneer Park right in town, any other short little hikes for the kiddos? Or maybe just little fun places to climb and play?
Snow Canyon too, I'm not sure if they're ready for the caves though.

There's a few threads in the past that have some detailed info about it.
Top of my mind are: Brooks Park just off of Main St.
Of course, you will need to check out Pioneer Park (where Dixie is whitewashed into the sandstone) and find the "mini narrows".
You can check out Red Cliffs Recreation Area near Leeds. A short 30min hike up a short-slot canyon. The water is probably all dried up, but your kids would love it. I believe it costs $5/vehicle.
The Warner Valley dino tracks (near Washington, Utah) are a must-see. Their free, easy to access, semi-remote (which means privacy), and the footprints are really distinct.
That's all I can think of, currently...●Canyoneering 'Canyon Conditions' @ www.candition.com

Little Black Mountain Petroglyph Site. Ten miles southeast of St George. The well defined half mile trail winds around a relatively flat area strewn with large boulders laden with rock art.
Directions to Little Black Mountain Petroglyph Site
From St. George, UT, travel south on River Rd. 5 miles to the Arizona State Line. Three-tenths of a mile south of the State Line, turn left (east) and drive 4.5 miles to the site.
My recollection is that there are two nearly side by side roads that travel the last 4.5 miles to the site with the southern most road being the best suited for passenger cars. That road's very dusty in dry conditions and likely impassable in wet weather.

Johnson's and Jenny's in Snow Canyon. Very short and sweet. Perfect for kids. Johnson's you may have to pass on. I think they officially close it the 15th of March.
