    Poncho House

I was finally able to round up a guide to visit this ruin - the largest in Utah. Some pics for your enjoyment but they fail miserably in showing the scale of the place.

Thanks for sharing Shane. This is one of the ruins that I would really like to get in and see some day. I've never seen really great pictures of the place until now, your shots are awesome.

sigh... my list of places to visit someday grows longer. I need to quit reading Bogley if I am to ever check off my entire list.

Very nice, I'd never heard of these before. The last picture gives a great perspective.

Shane, that backlit wall fragment shot is fantastic. I'll echo canyonbug's comment about these being the best shots I've ever seen of the place. Is the guide acting in some sort of official capacity, or just a local?

Our guide was just a local. Any tribe member can take you in from the bottom. If you access the ruins from the top you have to work with a couple specific families with homes near the access trail. One of the really interesting features is the presence of hanging gardens. There seems to be a lot of water working its way through the rock. It kind of reminded me of the hanging gardens in Zion - of course on a smaller scale and a little bit drier. You can see part of the hanging gardens in this pic:

    Great Pictures

Thanks for the information and pictures. This place has been on my "to do" list for years, but I have never gotten around to it. What a cool place!

My sister went there a year or two ago and thought it was fantastic-seems like the two of you share the opinion!
