Anyone Else Dump Their Qwest Landline?
I finally pulled the plug on Qwest this week. We are now a cell phone only based family. I got to the point of hating my Qwest bill- paying for a service we rarely used. I had internet with them also and have switched to Digis. About the same price, but Digis is noticeably faster. We sent out an email to family, friends, some Ward members, dentist, doctor, etc., but didn't put a "Calls now taken at..." message with Qwest on the old line. I figure if people we know want to get a hold of us, they'll know how. Anybody else done this? How has it worked out?
Are we there yet?

Did it years ago and never looked back. I do worry about my kids when they get older and are home alone but I guess that's why you see so many 10yo's with cellphones.

Did it two years ago. And yes my 10 year old has a phone an old analog and she complains about it. The 14 year old never has his turned on so really don't know why he has one. :)

Been land line free for about 9 years. About once every 3 years something will come up and the wife will say "see, that's why we need a land line. And I say "we have 5 cell phones in this house. I'm not paying for a land line"

I dumped my land line also about 1.5 years ago. However, I do have DSL internet with Qwest and I use the phone jack. I was happy to hear I didn't have to also get a phone package with that.

We've dumped it off and on. I think we'll dump it again. It's just my wife who has phone addiction with her sister and mom but there are some great free alternatives now.

Ditched mine 9 years ago. Although my wife got one on a free offer a year or so ago. We canceled after the offer was over.
