Longs Peak- NW & SW ridges- August 2010

Aaron and I ran up Longs Peak as a long day trip. We were going up the bottom of the Keyhole (NW) ridge, 5 pitches, 5.6, when it started to snow, sleet aqnd rain. at 7AM. Most folks on the regular hiking route headed back. One short crackle of electricity had us off the ridge, waiting out the cold wind and storm. An hour later it was clear and we finished the route. On the way down, we climbed the South West Ridge of the peak, 3 pitches 5.6 and landed right back on the 14,255 foot summit at 11 AM. The summit is several flat acres, with walls coming off each side. Great peak.
