Sorry, I just assumed that interest in the thread was waning..
I realize now there is more than one Devil's Garden, I assumed he meant the Escalante version.
Poison Springs is close to the right area. This location is just a few minutes walk from the paved highway, but you'd need a little luck to find it...

100,000 bonus points to whoever can identify where this is...heck, I'll give ya kudos if you just nail the area.

You're so damn close I'm going to give it to ya!
At Powell, just across from Twilight Canyon is a small bay called Little Oak (some call it Secret Canyon)...looming behind it is Navajo Mountain, and in front of that is another, smaller "mountain"...that's it.
On the 7.5 topo it's called "Rainbow"...2500 ft. from the lake to the top. There are two, steep routes from the lake to get out of the little canyon...moki steps up a nose on the west side and and old Navajo route up a nose on the east side. The east side route leads to Mopitz and Anasazi canyons.
When you get to the base of Rainbow, there's only one place to go up and you'll need one good climber and a 60 ft rope for those who aren't. Then make you're way to the west and look for the only chute there is that takes you to the top.
My first time up there was in '01. I was backpacking in the area and a friend and I decided to try to gain the summit on a layover day. We knew nothing about it but found the way up. Lo and behold, there was a can up there with paper and pen...it had about a dozen names on it, among them Steve Allen!
I've been back up there twice since then, most recently last week. On both occasions I couldn't find that can. Either the wind got it or someone brought it down.
The views up there, as you might imagine, are fantastic.
Excellent guesswork, Kurt. You're a lake guy, so I figured you'd get it.

Nice shot. A photographer who likes looking for unique shots once showed me an aerial of a pretty big looking arch really high up in the slickrock around Powell. (Not Rainbow obviously but impressively large looking). But he reckoned it would be really hard to get to - certainly going up to it - because of cliffs after studying google earth. I’m not sure if it even has a name but probably the Navajo would have had one for it. I’ve never seen photos of it

Here is one that will be difficult unless you have actually seen it, or viewed a photograph of it, or read about it in something written in English, or seen it painted on a canvas, or visited it in a dream. When I took this photo a friend commented that he'd been past it over a hundred times and never stopped.
