I wasn't going to guess, but since I don't know this one maybe I will anyway.
Perhaps Lick Wash or Hackberry area. The rock looks the same general color in this area.Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.

Kind of reminds me of Sheep Creek.

...sorry folks for late answering. I'm now in Utah for hiking and have wireless connection only today.
No, it isn't Lick Wash and Hackberry area. Further northeastern. Located nearly on a historic road. Hope, it helps. :)

...thanks for waiting, folks.
Today I'm back at home from Utah. We have had a wonderful time, a lot of fun and above of 100 mi of hiking in Moab area, Cedar Mesa and GSENM.
... and it isn't Hog Cyn.
Go to that area, where a small town and river have the same name.

I'm not guessing though, since I don't know the specific drainage. I would say far upper Death Hollow has that coloring, but it looks too shalow.
I guess I could guess Phipps Wash, but it the coloring doesn't look right. If it isn't Phipps (and it probably isn't), it would almost surely be higher in the Escalante drainage.Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Escalante area is right.
You been guessing right too, Scott.
It's Phipps Wash in the direction to the TH at Old Sheffield Road (Spencer Flat). There are beautiful sandstone colorations here in lime, yellow and pink. The downhill into the wash is a little steep, but fair.
The hike from that site of the Phipps is a lot of fun. A hidden arch and big pool are along the way to Phipps Arch.
You're up!

A other kind of pic.
This pic shows a part of the TH. Name the final destination.
A 'Golden Car' maybe helps - but it isn't the stairway to heaven.

It looks like the culvert on the trail to Julia Pfeiffer beach in Big Sur.

Sorry, Felicia, no.
It's located in Utah - but Big Sur is a nice place too.
