You got it! That's the east side of Bluebell Pass we were climbing and the big lake is Farmers Lake in the Swift Creek drainage.

That place looked so familiar.... however I haven't been there before. Makes me want to get back up to the Uintas this next year.

This one is a bit north..... What Lake is this?

I think it's Hell Roaring Lake (Sawtooth Mountains), but it's been several years now so I am not 100% sure.

One thing I am 100% sure on is that that is the Finger of Fate in the background (upper right).
Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.

Yep thats it.... My brother in law took me up there in mid May and we still has some snow up above our Knees and the trail was a river hiking in.... Not the best trip I have been on...

No. A few hundred miles from Moab.

No to all of the above.

Hints to narrow it down: This one is actually along a popular trail within a national park. The feature where Kessler is walking is a well known and named feature (which is what I am looking for as an answer). In front of him (and out of sight) is a well-known cave.

I think I've got it- right outside of Mantle's Cave in Dinosaur National Monument.
