Sheesh. North slope of the Uintas somewhere?

a) Mt. Hunt
b) Mt. Hunt Divide
c) Open Canyon
d) Phelps Lake
Great one! Is this a better area to hike than on the Grand itself? I'd think the view of Grand would be great but Prospector's Mountain may get in the way of a full view. The cirques/lakes at the top of Open Canyon look nice to explore.Just where is it I could find bear, beaver, and other critters worth cash money when skint?

Nailed it! Nice sleuthing.
Open Canyon is beautiful. This hike was amazing. We hiked into Phelps Lake and camped there 2 nights. Did some fishing, watched someone get short hauled off the Shnaz (sp?). On the middle day, we did this hike. 11.2 miles round trip from the campsites to mt hunt divide, then another 2 mi or so round trip of cross country hiking and scrambling on some pretty sketchy lose rock. View from up top is great, but not much of the grand can be seen.

You got it! This was in 97 before the pavement and fences and gates were put in. And before the snobs moved into Lindon. And before the said snobs started calling the cops every time someone went shooting up there. I typically unload a sixer on my hikes up Dry Canyon just to piss them off.

Very historic shot, thanks for sharing! Okay, for this photo I think people will probably guess the peaks pretty fast, so the next turn can go to whoever names the trail/route it was taken from. Hopefully that will be a little more challenging.

Gad Valley Trail?
Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.

Nice! Gotta get up there for that hike sometime. Could just about do it now.
Next up, we'll take it away from the Wasatch for a while.

Not in the Muddy/Dirty Devil drainage. You're a bit too far south.
