Bald Mountain from Bald Mountain Trailhead

What can I say? We did this hike yesterday. This is a relatively easy hike--only four miles round trip. The trail is very rocky for most of the way, and quite steep in places, but the views are amazing. We only stayed a few minutes on top--looking around, trying to find a geocache that's supposed to be hidden up there (couldn't find it), taking some pictures and then heading back down before the big, dark, ugly clouds and the rain they carried hit us. Anyway, here are some pics.

That was my first time. My brother said I need to do it so that I'm up there when the sun comes up, because every lake down below is reflecting the sky and looks like its on fire. Yeah, I need to do that.

Could it be snow shoed???? Do they ever plow the road or does the 1st snow shut the road down? Was thinking it could be snow shoed pretty easy and very little avalanche danger. Any thoughts.

They don't plow the road :(.. you could rent snowmobiles and go up the road then snowshoe from there :)
Tacoma Said - If Scott he asks you to go on a hike, ask careful questions like "Is it going to be on a trail?" "What are the chances it will kill me?" etc. Maybe "Will there be sack-biting ants along the way?"

One of the most awesome things about this trip was on the drive up. Just past Trial Lake, we rounded a bend and there was a bull moose right in the middle of the road. I had to slam on the brakes to keep from hitting it, but it was so cool. Just my luck that my camera was in the very back of the 4runner in my pack. :(
