Looking for great 3 day trail for 10 and 12 year old boys near SE Idaho

Wow where has the summer gone? I usually do an annual backpacking trip with my 12 and 10 year old boys each year and am looking for recommendations for our trip this year. We will be going over the Labor Day weekend and I am hoping to stay within 2 or 3 hour drive of the house...Pocatello, ID. We are relativly new to SE Idaho so any ideas would be great!! Thanks.

Grand Teton national park? Paintbrush loop is amazing, if you do it as 3 days you could explore a ton and hike easy. Not sure but the Uinta's is got to be pretty close to that time limit, Kings peak maybe?
I need a Canyoneering partner! I have a open schedule, all my own gear and am looking to go as much as possible..PM me!

never been, but the pioneer, boulder, white cloud ranges look very nice. and they are in your backyard there in idaho. and the sawtooths are amazing as well.

Head up to Alaska Basin just past Driggs Idaho & Alta Wyoming. Its in the Jedediah Smith Wilderness and you can sneak up on the backside of the Tetons faily easily.

This may be one hour's drive too far, but the Alice Lake/Toxaway Lake Loop in the Sawthooths is perfect for 3 days. It's about 25 miles I think.

Here is a blog of some Boy Scouts that have done it (to show that 10/12 year olds can do it). And gorgeous photos!

I did this trip back in 2006 (you can search for my post, but I'd rather not see a certain individual in those photos). The nights were very mild up there in the 40s, I don't remember many mosquitoes. The night temps were actually colder down near the Salmon River in the valley, below freezing. Overall quite delightful. We even swam in Toxaway Lake (it was freezing but then you laid out on a rock to sun bathe).
