    embed slideshow from webshots ?

the embedded slideshow thing is prety cool. i have all my pics on webshots tho', not flicker or picasa. webshots has a link to "Embed as slideshow in MySpace, your blog or website", but it don't work when i paste it into a post. i have used their "post in a forum" for individual pics, but can i embed the webshots album as a slideshow ?

Whenever you see an "embed" html code on videos, slideshows, or google maps, this is code for a website or blog. I imagine the "post in a forum" code included the "IMG" tags around the url. But anyways...

I could take a look at webshots and see what it's like, how many people use it, things like that. Could you give me a link to one of your albums?

Photobucket, webshots, snapfish, picasaweb, flickr... they're all similar and they would need to be programmed each specifically for our php code. I've also been looking for ways to embed facebook photo albums, but I'm inconsistent on it.

I'll do some investigating, if there are only a few people that use it, I could create the code without having the image button, so you could still use the tags, like maybe "webshots" (album url) "/webshots" .... No promises though, but I'll take a look at it.

OK... I think this might work. Feel free to test it out in this thread. NOTE, what I like about the code is it's not an automatic "play" once the page is loaded. I'm still trying to solve that with picasa and flickr. I also like the pan and zoom.

Here's how it works, and I could do a tutorial vid on it later too.

Here's the code I used for the slideshow above:
    PHP Code:
    [webshots]573084112HWgoyw[/webshots
When you go into any album, that album id will be the last bunch of characters, so in your case of http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/565301756oUinMS ... it's the 565301756oUinMS

Just copy and paste that last section and plant it in between some "webshots" tags. If we get several people who use webshots, I can put a button up there, but for now just manually type out the tags.

    Hope that works. Thanks.

There is one flaw that could be in this code... It could only be set to read goofball's albums. If somebody else is a webshots user, could they please try to post their album slideshow?

    Thanks.

    thanks sombeech !

i don't know if my other webshots acct album showing up helps solve the exclusivity (?) of the function for you or not, but theer it is.

its pretty cool to have a forum so open to user suggestions and willing to put the time in.

    thanks !

Cool, I just tried a total stranger's album, looks like it's embedding with the same method. I'll try to make a tutorial on this. It's ready to go all except for the button.

Edit... I just threw the button up there too. It's this:
