Yeah, I can't really see stars at all from my yard. Hooray for light pollution!

    Thanks guys
Yes Bill--front--no, really side, no front/side. Yea, front/ side.
I have to hide behind trees to block out the street lights.
I think I'll do another tonight in front of a vacation house we rent out.

very nice, how do you like that 11-16?

I am headed up to the Uintas for some car camping with the kiddies this weekend. I hope things are clear so I can smash out some star trails

I really feel complete lens wise(for a minute) I love the 11-16, it seems to have it's own slightly elevated level of saturation that seems to help make picture pop.
I have had minor but usually correctable problems with CA, with the 11-16.
    Seems very sharp.

Which one is your main walk around/hiking lens? For me the 11-16 would be too wide for that (in most situations) and the 24-105 would not be wide enough, at least not on an APS-C 1.6 crop factor sensor.

did you pick these up new or did you attend the Dan Ransom PCT camera sale?

    wow 24mm... really?
My 11-16 is a beast for landscapes, without a doubt my go to lens for scapes.

That XSI looks painfully small on the end of that 120-400. Would've loved a lens like that in Alaska...

I do occasionally like the 11-16 for landscape, if I have a good foreground subject.
