    No diving!!!!

Not exactly canyoneering but it was sure a wake up call for me.....

We were spending time at the Idaho Regatta on the Snake River last weekend, it's hot and one of my friends dove into the river to cool off. This is a spot we have been swimming and diving at hundreds of times over the past 30 years....

Anyhoo, my friend hits something in the water and breaks his neck in 3 places and his back in two places....

Somehow.... by the grace of god he will not be paralyzed. He is in a body cast from the waist up and a halo for the next 10 weeks, but doctors say he should be fine once everything heals up.... the whole experiance scared the crap outta me....

Some days you are just lucky I guess..... but no reason to dive and test your luck....

But if I agreed with you, we would both be wrong.

Jeeze... that is bad. At my age (and yours) I don't jump in canyons either.

That is a good reminder. I am glad your friend will be okay and I wish him a speed recovery.

    Hope your friend recovers well.

I have a brother that was on a guided trip down the Snake years ago and the guide told them it was O.K. to dive in where they were at. My brother dove in, hit a rock and cracked his head open.
