    Fillmore to Marsyvale ATV/Geocaching Event

I'm thinking about hosting another ATV/Geocaching event.

On or around July 28th- August 1st (Wed-Sunday).

I would stage at the Fillmore KOA, ride through Kanosh/Meadow, up past Adelaide campground, over the mountain, drop down Sam Stowe at the Fremont Indian Museum, cross I-70, ride the Max Reid trail (Paiute 01) and follow that to the Deer Creek (Paiute 74 trail) to Hoovers for lunch or dinner (depending on how long the group took).

I'll either make it a day ride or see if there's interest in packing tents & sleeping bags, or making separate arrangements for lodging in Richfield, Salina, Joseph or Marysvale (all those locations allow you to ATV right up to the hotel/motel).

Due to 50" clearance gates, only RAZR's or standard ATV's will fit. No side-by-sides or Jeeps.

Any interest from folks on this board?

I am interested, but can't commit quite yet (another couple of weeks and I'll be able to firm up my plans). I would rather camp or do a day trip than stay in a motel/hotel.

That would be my preference as well. Last year, we packed our tents/sleeping bags and slept up at Big John Flat. The weather was perfect!

Since I'm just forming the idea, I don't yet have any more detail. It's fairly easy terrain with only a few spots that I'd consider "black trails" where I've had to use a winch and/or tow strap in years past. It would be at least 140+ miles round trip and you'd probably need at least an extra 5 gal. fuel to be on the safe side. We'd be hitting upwards of 10,000' in elevation, so a sweat shirt would be helpful. Once I firm things up, I'll put more info out there.
