    Horse Thief trail to Mexican Mtn trail in San Rafael Swell Ut.
    3 women & 2 dogs went backpacking up Horse Thief (parked next to Smith Cabin off Hwy 6) eventually to camp at Spring Canyon for the water source. We were wise women cz we turned around when we couldn't find the way down to Mexican Mtn trail, having lost the cairns. We should've started at Mexi Mtn TH with our backpacks. We did day hiked up to where we were stymied as how to come down the day before. Mexican Mtn looked like a fantasy castle from above on Horse Thief trail. Great car camping just off Mexican Mtn road. The dogs loved San Rafael river, despite being cowed-out. Fun was had by all on this Memorial week-end.
